The Salvation Army’s Giving Tree is a nation wide program that provides Christmas dinner, clothing, and toys for disadvantaged families. Financial assistance aids with basic necessities, along with seasonal needs. The student council in the John Cooper Lower School spear headed the project for the Montgomery County Salvation Army’s Giving Tree.
The students collected gifts and donations for children, teens, and senior citizens in need. They also helped load the gifts onto the Salvation Army truck. The gifts will be distributed by volunteers at shelters and nursing homes. “ The Salvation Army endeavors to bring spiritual light and love to those it serves at Christmas so that the real meaning of the season is not forgotten”.
It’s never to late to give, visit the Salvation Army’s Homepage to learn more or to donate.
